The school fall festival where they pulled out all the stops!

Andrew's school had an "Under the Big Top" themed fall festival complete with an elephant ride! Personally I thought it was a little over the top, but they didn't ask me. :)

Elephants? Really? That's awesome. I'll bet the kids loved it. This is a school we're talking about here though, where did they get the money? Couldn't that money have been spent on other things than elephants? I taught for enough years to know that schools don't have money for elephants!

The elephants were $6,000!!! Of course there was a live and silent auction with VERY expensive items (ring valued at $6,500, etc). I haven't heard yet how much they made but it's one of their big fundraisers of the year. Silly me, I thought the kids would have been happy with a pony ride but apparently that didn't go with the "theme" :)

OH MY GOSH. Being a wife of a teacher I think of all that the money could, no, should have been spent on. Dennis has two classes that don't have enough text books for all the students!! On of them is an AP class!!!!I am sure more kids were afraid of them then those that would ride on them.

WOAHHH!!! Real Elephants! O.K. isn't that what the Circus is for??? ;-)evil grin Our school decided they were doing too much and so this year we didn't have Fall festival at all and we only had one main fundraiser (a fun run the first month of school), and other than t-shirt sales, and box tops, that is pretty much it for the year. There is a book fair, but it is more for the Library itself. An Elephant! I just can't get over it!!!
