The weekend

The girls had their family birthday party yesterday. I split the friends and family birthday for many reasons but mainly it was too many people and not enough time to visit with family when they are combined. My mother-in-law (the kids call her Mimi) came Friday night and stayed until Sunday. I was able to enjoy a fun dinner Friday night without the kids and some shopping last night. I love when she comes and gives me a much needed break!!!

My father in law (Grandpa), Brother-in-law, his wife and two children and my neice (her mother had a baby this week so she came with Grandpa) came in for the day on Saturday. The age breakdown of the children were 7 (Andrew), 5, 3, 2 (Leah), 2 (Leila) and 1. They played inside and out and a good time was had by all.

I got the girls a slide and a playhouse for their birthday but the playhouse hasn't arrived yet. Leah enjoyed the slide while Leila napped away. They got the hang of the slide VERY quickly and by the end of the day they could climb up and slide down unassisted. However, Leah would get impatient with Leila and give her an extra push if she was moving too slow! :)

The fat cat belongs to my sister. The girls enjoy visiting him and "petting" (more like poking or pulling fur) him. He came to our yard for a brief visit and the girls were excited.

I've noticed the edge (usually the lower right if I keep my camera horizontal) was blurry in all the pictures. I thought my camera was damaged from all the kids grabbing it, etc. However, as I was writing this post it hit me to look at the lens of the camera. Sure enough, there is a grubby, tiny fingerprint on the lower edge. DUH! I cleaned it and can't believe that I didn't catch on sooner! I blame it on sleep deprivation! :)
