Rabat Airport

When we first arrived in Rabat, Morocco last September the first thing I saw was chickens on the runway! I thought to myself "I am NOT in the US anymore!!!" The airport was about the size of my house. I'm not exaggerating. I thought that a capital city would have a bigger airport. I have since learned that more flights go out of Casablanca, but honestly that airport isn't very big either.
Last week Josh. Andrew and I went back to the airport in search of Josh's missing luggage. The luggage has been missing since October 31st and Kenya Airways keeps trying to send it to us. We walk into the airport and I couldn't help but notice the mangy, stray cat INSIDE the airport. He was sleeping on the red carpet that led to the first class line of the ticket counter. What was even more surprising was that no one else seemed surprised to see this cat inside the airport.
Stray cats and chickens . . . I don't remember reading about this in ANY of the guidebooks we have about Morocco. :)
