Adoption Day Part 3

We got a picture of the family that was there for the hearing. My mom, dad and oldest sister were able to come.

We then headed over to the courthouse and my dad had one of the girls in his arms. We were going down the stairs out of the lawyer's office and he fell! We grabbed the baby (she was fine) and I tried to help him up but as you can see, he's a big guy! Our lawyer was able to help (Thankfully). He was fine. I was surprised he didn't break anything. He'll be 76 next month.
After we got through security we waited in the waiting area of the judge's chambers. He was running behind so we had fun trying to entertain the girls. HA!

We finally got in and the whole process took less than 5 minutes. The judge was a former Marine who did a tour in Iraq so he was quite understanding about why Josh wasn't able to make it. WHEW! Turns out he adopted two boys from Russia. I almost fell apart in the judge's chambers because it was finally over. I was just so relieved.
We got a picture of the family with the judge (so sorry Mom and Annette- it was the only picture we got with the judge!)

After the hearing we headed over to my parents' house to wait until lunch time to celebrate. The girls liked the piano and getting in to all of mom's antiques and trinkets. ;)
