A little of this and that

I believe in my last post I mentioned how my parents' 24 hour visit had turned into a 5 day visit since my mom needed oral surgery. Her surgery went well and on Friday the kids and I picked up Josh from the airport and met my parents for lunch before they were on their way back to Florida.

Meanwhile I managed to get a nasty cold and got a steroid shot and some antibiotics but some of the symptoms (sore throat) were hanging on! Then I woke up Friday with a pinched nerve in my neck. UGH!!!

It was so nice to have Josh home. The poor guy comes home to a list of little things I can't do for myself. I had 4 boxes that needed to go to the Salvation Army but they were too heavy to load in my van. It was nice to get those boxes out of here!!!

On Saturday Josh's brother, John, and his daughter, Bella (age 5) came to visit. John has deployed 3 times in the last 5 years. He just recently moved to another base in the US with a job that trains soldiers that are deploying so his likelihood of deploying are low. We got to see John last Christmas but it had been years prior to that visit. It was fun to hear Josh and John talk Army stuff and pick on each other's branches, etc. Andrew and Bella had fun playing and we had a LOT of trouble getting them to settle down to sleep so the Easter Bunny could visit! :)

Sunday came and Josh's brother (along with his family, sister (with her daughter) and mother came for the day. We were able to have the girls blessed at church. We have a picture of the girls in their white dresses. The family was able to stay for lunch and visit into the afternoon.

Monday morning came and it was time to take Josh to the airport. The visit was way too short! I headed to the gym but didn't factor in that I wasn't breathing as well from that cold so I think I pushed myself a bit too hard. My dad arrived Monday night so he could go to a meeting on Tuesday in a nearby town.

Tuesday I decided to take it easy and the girls and I had a VERY long nap that morning while Dad was at his meeting and Andrew returned to school from his long Easter weekend. That evening was Andrew's baseball game and we were hurrying to the van (my dad was inside babysitting) when Andrew opened the back of the van and I ran into the corner of the door! It knocked me down and I cried like a baby in pain! Andrew got my dad and he brought me some ice. I cut my head and have a nasty goose egg but I'm fine. We missed Andrew's batting practice but he arrived just in time to play the game. He hit his first homerun and I was cheering like crazy! :) I need to get some pictures of Andrew in his uniform. He's so proud of it! :)

Wednesday morning we said goodbye to Dad and I've been cleaning like crazy. I can't believe our trip to Disney World is in less than 2 weeks. I'm not ready!!! I have too much to do! I know it will get done.

Enjoy the pictures of the girls! :)

What a busy life you lead, I had forgotten how busy life is with little ones.

Don't worry about the head gash. I hear that you can apply duct tape to facial injuries. :)
