Earlier this week Andrew's hair was looking rough so I needed to take him to get a haircut. I hired a sitter for the girls and apparently we picked a busy time! So we waited a while and he played with some toys, watched some tv and I flipped through a catalog. Out of the blue Andrew says quite loudly:
"Mom, what would you do with yourself if you got pregnant?!"
A few people are staring at this point. Now, I have no idea where he is coming from with this and I said "Andrew, it would be ok if that happened but I don't think it will. Three kids is enough for me. By the way, why are you suddenly concerned about me being pregnant?"
Then he said "I'm just asking what you would DO because Dad wouldn't even know about it!"
Now EVERYONE is watching. I said "Um, Dad will be around if Mom ever gets pregnant!" Then I'm thinking to myself "I don't want to have a birds and bees talk (even a 7 year old appropriate one) in public!!!" So I said "Andrew you don't have to worry about Mommy getting pregnant while Daddy is in Iraq. Mommy has enough fun with 3 kids."
At this point I'm thinking that I've possibly cleared up the fact that I'm not sneaking around Dad but somehow involving my 7 year old enough that he's worried about a pregnancy to these total strangers. I'm also thinking Andrew will now be quiet. WRONG!
So then he says "Well, if you are going to go get yourself pregnant, at least have a boy so I can have brother!"
*SIGH*
I love that kid, though! :)

Rachel, I always love reading your funny and cute stories! This is hilarious! I think it's fascinating - the things kids come up with. I wish I could understand how they think.
