I saw the idea for a Family Yahtzee Game on another blog. http://thethriftychick.blogspot.com/2009/05/family-yahtzee-tutorial.html
I thought it was adorable and shared it with my best friend, Ali. She made one for her husband for Christmas and it was enjoyed by her son as well.
I'm finally feeling well enough to work on some projects so I decided to work on mine. I found a cardboard brown colored chipboard box at Walmart for about $2.00. I got the blocks at Hobby Lobby in a package for a few dollars. Scrapbook paper is not in short supply here so that was easy! :) I got a small bottle of black acrylic paint for less than $2.00 and some sponge brushes for $2.00. So for less than $10 I created our own family game.
I used smaller cubes (closer to the size of real dice) for easier rolling. Although the pictures are smaller, it's still easy to see who is who. Since we have 5 family members but 6 sides to the cube I put a heart on one side. Andrew can't wait to play it tomorrow.
Here are my pictures:
