I get asked this a LOT! I don’t mind though. The most obvious way is Leah is heavier than Leila. Right now it is a 2 pound difference. Leah’s hair is thicker on top and short in the back. Leila’s hair is pretty thin and she has a major receding hair line :) on both sides of her head. However, it is quite long in the back.
Leila is my fighter. I guess she had to be to survive her first few weeks of life (she was under 4 pounds and was in an incubator). If she wants something across the room, she’ll figure out a way to scoot her body and won’t give up until she gets it! She also steals Leah’s toys a LOT!
She also stares at people until they look at her and then she gives the biggest smile. She’s my flirt! The funniest thing she currently does is yells if she wants you to look at her. She’ll see someone who isn’t paying attention to her and say “AH!” in her loudest voice and will keep repeating it until they look at her. She tries it with Oreo and gets really mad that Oreo tends to run away from loud noises (ie. HER) instead of coming to her.
She is my social one. She is always looking around trying to take everything in when we are out and about. She does not want to fall asleep away from home because she fears she’ll miss something. She can always be depended on for a smile.
Leah is my easy going one. She lets Leila steal her toy and simply picks another one. She’s pretty easy to please. She REALLY loves her Daddy. It’s so sweet to watch her light up when he is in the room. She is VERY close to saying “Dada.”
She usually maintains a serious look on her face in social situations. She smiles, but not as easily. If you get a smile from Leah then you know you’re special because she doesn’t smile for just anyone.
If Leah doesn’t like the solid food you are offering, she’ll eat it anyway but just make this sad face that lets you know that she really doesn’t like it. Her sister just refuses to open her mouth!
Right now Leah does everything first (jumping in her exersaucer, sitting up - well, almost, etc). Leila usually does it about 3 weeks later. The only exception so far has been rolling over. Leila HATED tummy time so much that she would throw her head to the side so she would roll over. She also discovered that rolling could get her places to get her what she wants! :)

So which one is which here? I'll post the answer in the comments section after a day or two. I do have trouble telling them apart if they are separate sometimes. The other night when we were eating out one of the waitresses brought one of the girls back and it took me a few seconds to figure out WHO I was holding. :)

I think Leah is in the top photo and Leila is in the lower one. :O) Beautiful babies! They are just wonderful. :O) samm who wishes she were close enough to hug them and babysit and stuff! (can you tell my grandkidlets live too far away for me to get a kidlet "fix" regularly!)
I've been lurking from twinstuff, and I just wanted to say that I absolutely love your blog!
Your girls are beautiful, and your story is amazing.
Congratulations!!!!
I think that the top one is Leah and the bottom one is Leila.
They are beautiful. And just to be different I would say that Leila is in the top picture and Leah is the bottom one.
Leah is the top, and Leila is the bottom.
They are really cute.
I think Leila is the top picture and Leah is the bottom picture. I'm thinking I've looked at enough pictures of them by now that I should be able to tell. Some people seem to think that twins have an easier time telling other twins apart, like we're in some secret club. Unfortunately, there's no truth in it.
I think the top is Lelia and bottom is Leah. I would have to go back and look at pictures. I do see a big difference between the two.
I did mine wrong. Leah is on the top and Leila is the bottom one. So don't count my other vote. This is what I meant to write.
Answer: Leah is on top and Leila is on bottom! Thanks for playing! :)
Next game: Identical or Fraternal? Look for it soon! :)
